Direct Action

Programme Details

Introduction

Direct action is the trademark of the Campaign and we continue to undertake direct action to reclaim public space as a site for struggle and to visibilise particular injustices. Some of our actions have involved annual silent protests against sexual violence organized by Rhodes University; protests linked to specific rape cases that the Campaign has worked on and ongoing public actions to draw attention to the injustice of the 2006 Zuma rape case judgement and Fezeka’s subsequent exile, which exemplify the ways in which survivors are punished for speaking out.
