The Youth exchange project is part of the Women’s Leadership Programme that seeks to work in collaboration with partner organisations to strengthen young women’s involvement in activism, especially feminist activism. To strengthen feminist solidarity and feminist movement building across borders.
We partnered with The Norwegian Students’ and Academics’ International Assistance Fund (SAIH) from Norway and Katswe Sisterhood from Zimbabwe, where 6 young women (two from each country) travelled together and spent 3 months in each country learning from the host organisation. At the end of the project, the participants return to their country to complete their individual projects and work in their parent organisation, sharing their lessons learned and continuing to strengthen their activism and feminism.
One of the participants in the project, produced a comic book addressing the difficulties faced by young LGBTIAQ+ persons in townships and coming out.
